Design, Development & Maintenance of Escape Games

Mytho-logique|Design and Installation of Mechanics for Two Escape Game

Escape Room

Le concept

As part of the opening of a new escape game in the first quarter of 2025, TorrusVR was commissioned to design, deliver, install, and maintain the electronic and software components of two immersive escape game rooms. This project, carried out in collaboration with Pix Entertainment (in charge of project management) and Luxar Agency (responsible for mechanical integration and set design), showcases our expertise in creating immersive experiences.

Two themes, four captivating scenarios

The two rooms offer experiences based on legendary myths:

Room 1: The Mysterious Irish Pub:

Players are immersed in the world of an Irish pub, where every corner hides puzzles inspired by Celtic myths.

    Room 2: The Creole Hut:

This room transports players to the heart of Guadeloupe, with a tropical atmosphere and puzzles infused with local legends.

Each room offers two different scenarios. This allows players to discover a new scenario, and operators to maximize the use of their facilities by attracting players for a second experience without requiring new infrastructure.

20 mechanics, combining electronics and engineering

We have developed no less than 20 interactive mechanics for these two rooms. Among them, some incorporate specially designed electronic boards to control and automate interactions, paving the way for their reuse in other projects.

    The Barrel Mechanism

In the Irish room, players must solve a puzzle around a barrel :

    1. Place four specific statuettes to access a barrel-shaped airlock.

    2. Insert a potion into a fixed central valve.
In the same room, players are invited to relive the key steps of beer brewing through a series of mini-games around a cauldron.

    3. The barrel then starts to spin on wheels, revealing the exit in a spectacular rotation.
In this same room, players are invited to relive the key steps of beer brewing through a series of mini-games around a cauldron.

    The Cauldron Mechanism

In this same room, players are invited to relive the key steps of beer brewing through a series of mini-games around a cauldron.

    Steps for Brewing Beer:

    La mécanique du chaudron

Dans cette même salle, les joueurs sont invités à revivre les étapes clés de la fabrication de la bière à travers une série de mini-jeux autour d’un chaudron

Etapes pour faire de la bière :

    A) The Jumping Cauldron: The process begins with the roasting of the grains. Players must manipulate the cauldron using ropes to place it over fires that light up successively. The goal is to roast the grains without burning them, following the rhythm set by the fires.

    B) The Millstone : Once the grains are roasted, players must assemble gears to activate a millstone. This mechanism grinds the grains by reproducing the necessary movements: rotation and vertical translation.

    C) The Pump : Finally, players must stoke the coals to reach the correct cooking temperature. By manipulating a blower connected to a visual gauge, they must carefully regulate their effort. Once the temperature is stabilized for a given time, the step is complete.

    Support and Assistance Systems

To guide players throughout their adventure :

Tablet Clues: A custom-developed interface allows the Game Master to communicate clues via a digital scroll.

Magic Mirror: Behind a bottomless mirror, a hidden screen displays videos or clues in case of prolonged player blockage.

Video Surveillance and Audio: Each room is equipped with a camera and sound system, allowing the Game Master to interact with and guide players in real-time.

    A Rigorous Methodology

Each project we undertake follows a structured methodology:

    1. Design and Testing: We conduct thorough tests to ensure the proper functioning of all mechanics.
    2. Technical Documentation: We provide our clients with detailed project documentation. In this case, for example, we included wiring plans and instructions for decorators to facilitate integration into the set.
    3. Maintenance: We remain available to intervene and ensure a consistently optimal experience for operators.
