Musée dans le Métaverse
Clear Channel Experience | Decentraland Metaverse
Metaverse | Decentraland
Concept
Clear Channel collaborates with advertisers to execute advertising campaigns, allowing brands to shine by enabling them to create their own experiences. It is a key player in Out-of-Home advertising in France.
To commemorate its 100th anniversary, Clear Channel wanted to mark this milestone with a museum in the metaverse, Decentraland. This event allowed them to position themselves for the first time in the metaverse.
As a reminder, the metaverse is a term that describes a 3D virtual universe that can be explored by users online. It is an immersive digital world where people can interact with each other, create objects, spaces, and experiences.
For this reason, Clear Channel turned to TorrusVR from conception to realization.
Implementation Steps
Here are the steps of the project implementation:
Step 1 : Preliminary study
Following the drafting of the specifications, the preliminary study confirmed which direction to take and which solutions to implement to meet the technical constraints as well as the graphic charter.
Step 2 : Creation of the museum /Totem et du parcours utilisateur
Step 3 : Implémentation of Mechanics
Following the completion of an initial phase of 3D modeling and validation of the mechanics, they were implemented to allow users to interact with the environment and communicate with future analytics APIs. After this phase, interaction with the Clear Channel Totem enabled teleportation to the Clear Channel advertising area.
Step 4 : Creation of APIs
We set up a server and web services to enable the museum in Decentraland to communicate with the backend that will store the analytics.
Step 5 : Final delivery and Documentation
Avatar
Avatar creation is essential for logging into the virtual world. Users can then move around, interact, and have a unique experience.
Issues
Decentraland is a 3D virtual universe operating on the blockchain, allowing players to buy, sell, and own virtual land parcels using cryptocurrency. As a recent technology in the market, we conducted in-depth research into the origin of this virtual currency and engaged a consulting firm to verify that it does not fund unregulated entities.
We encountered constraints regarding the quality of textures and the accuracy of models, which prompted us to optimize performance to achieve the best possible rendering. Integrating sophisticated graphics was complex, and we also had to consider limitations on the number of polygons.
Our experience in developing mobile virtual reality applications and the optimization it requires proved invaluable in creating a high-quality environment within the performance constraints imposed by the Metaverse.
What’s next ?
Clear Channel expressed the desire to adapt this Metaverse museum to virtual reality, in order to offer an even more immersive experience. This evolution allowed for exploring new possibilities and providing visitors with an even deeper dive into the virtual universe of the museum. Additionally, the impact of this project has not gone unnoticed by a major luxury group, which has shown keen interest in this innovative initiative. This globally renowned group wished for the museum to be tailored to its brand and specific requirements, thus opening up new prospects for a personalized and immersive experience in the Metaverse.
